LIMITLESS vs LEGACY: Which prop firm account should you choose?
In this post

The faster path or the customary system? Let's look at the difference.
Most traders do not get stuck during a prop firm challenge because they cannot trade.
Often they simply choose a rule system that is not in harmony with their own trading style.
Some want to pass quickly, take advantage of large market movements, and do not want unnecessary restrictions.
Other traders prefer a more gradual approach, progressing through a more customary evaluation process.
That is why we created the LIMITLESS and LEGACY account types.
LEGACY is designed for traders seeking a more structured, proven approach, while LIMITLESS is for those who want greater freedom and faster progression.
The only question is:
Which one suits you better?
Short summary
LIMITLESS is a one step challenge type system, where the eval can be passed in as little as 1 day.
LEGACY is a more classic two step challenge approach, with a minimum of 2 trading days.
During the LIMITLESS Eval, there is no consistency rule.
Furthermore, for these accounts, trading during news is allowed.
Both systems use a fixed drawdown model.
There is no activation fee and no daily loss limit in either system.
One Step or Two Step Challenge? What is the difference?
Most traders do not get stuck during a prop firm challenge because they cannot trade.
In the prop firm world, we can examine two main approaches.
Two Step Challenge
The classic model generally consists of several steps:
Evaluation phase
Funded phase
Its advantage is that it is more structured and familiar to many traders.
The LEGACY account follows this mindset.
To pass the Eval, a minimum of 2 trading days is required, and a 50% consistency rule applies to it.
This means that the distribution of your performance matters.
Example:
If you make a very large profit in one day, but your other days are weaker, it can affect the evaluation.
One Step Challenge
The goal of the one step challenge is simple:
prove as quickly as possible that you can trade stably.
LIMITLESS follows this model.
If you reach the profit target on the first day: you do not have to wait more days, as you can step straight into the Express phase.
This can be ideal for those who do not want restrictions slowing down the process.
Limitless vs Legacy: full comparison
Evaluation Speed
LEGACY
Minimum 2 trading days required
50% consistency rule
No trading during news
LIMITLESS
Can be passed in as little as 1 day
No consistency rule in the Eval phase
Trading during news is allowed
LEGACY offers a more structured, more predictable framework, while LIMITLESS prioritizes speed, flexibility, and fewer restrictions.

Profit Target and freedom of execution
The profit target in itself is not everything.
It is equally important under what rules you have to achieve it.
Two traders can achieve the same target in completely different ways.
Example:
Trader "A":
takes small profits daily
opens few positions
avoids news
Trader "B":
trades larger movements
uses a news-based strategy
makes faster decisions
Neither of the two styles is better.
The question is:
Which system better supports your own trading method?
Drawdown and loss limit: how much room do you have to make mistakes?
Both systems use a drawdown model.
LIMITLESS Drawdown
$25K - $50K accounts → 4% EOD drawdown
$100K - $150K accounts → 3% EOD drawdown
LEGACY Drawdown
4% EOD drawdown
Important difference:
Neither account type has a daily loss limit.
This means there is no separate daily loss limit that would automatically close your trading day. Risk management thus remains the responsibility of the trader.
How do I avoid failing my account due to the drawdown rule?
This is one of the most common questions we get from traders.
Always adjust your position size and daily risk to the size of the drawdown available to you.
Many accounts fail not because the strategy is bad, but because the risk management is not in harmony with the account size. The goal of the drawdown rule is not to restrict trading, but to ensure that you keep your losses under control in the long run as well.
The better you know your own risk limits, the easier it will be to progress consistently toward profit targets and payouts.
News Trading: does it matter if you can trade during news?
The market's biggest movements often happen around important economic events.
Examples:
CPI data
Fed decisions
labor market reports
In the case of LEGACY, trading during news is not allowed during the Eval.
In the case of LIMITLESS, it is.
This can be especially important for those who:
use a news trading strategy
look for opportunities from higher volatility
trade on shorter timeframes
Profit Split and Payout Frequency
For both systems:
weekly payout option
maximum 8% payout limit relative to the account size
during a payout, a maximum of 50% of the profit can be withdrawn
The difference is rather in the path leading there.
LIMITLESS provides a faster evaluation process, while LEGACY follows a more classic, predictable regulatory structure.
Which account type should I choose?
Legacy might be a better choice if:
you are just getting acquainted with the prop firm model
you like predictable and structured rule systems
you follow a more methodical trading style
a well-defined framework for development is important to you
Limitless might be a better choice if:
you do news or event-based trading
as a more experienced trader, you want to progress faster
your strategy requires greater flexibility
you do not want extra rules restricting your opportunities

Summary: LIMITLESS or LEGACY?
LEGACY and LIMITLESS do not target the same trader personality.
LEGACY is a more structured and predictable approach for traders who want to develop in a stable framework.
LIMITLESS is designed for those looking for faster progression, the option to trade during news, and greater flexibility.
The right choice is not about which system is "better".
But rather about which system helps you become more successful with your own trading style.
